The selection results for the Diversity Visa (DV) Program are generally available each year in May. All applicants must consult the Electronic Diversity Visa system (https://dvprogram.state.gov/) and enter their unique confirmation number in order to access the DV Program results and all information pertaining to their DV entry and interview scheduling.
Being randomly chosen as a selectee does not guarantee that you will receive a visa. Selection merely means that you are eligible to apply for a DV, and, if your rank number becomes eligible for final processing, potentially to be issued a DV. The standards for qualification are simple, but strictly enforced. Each applicant must demonstrate either a sufficient level of education or a combination of qualifying skills and work experience, and must meet all other eligibility criteria for a U.S. immigrant.
