On May 10, 2017, USAID and UKAID officially handed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) some civic and voter education materials to mobilize Congolese voters to participate in the electoral process including voter registration. These materials have been developed –through the financial support of USAID and UKAID—by the non-governmental organization Counterpart International in collaboration with CENI. Counterpart International implements the civic and voter education activity named “Congo Demokrasia”
“We congratulate those who worked in order to provide to the Congolese voters, especially in the provinces and territories of the DRC, these civic and voter education materials, to facilitate the understanding of the electoral process , even by voters who don’t have any school education”, said USAID Deputy Mission Director Scott Hocklander in his statement.
