On December 7, 2016, the U.S. Ambassador James Swan with USAID Mission Director Christophe Tocco visited the MRC facilities established by the USAID-funded Media Sector Development Program (MSDP) implemented by Internews Network. During the visit, Ambassador Swan met with 31 young Congolese bloggers and social media activists who are currently participating in a conference to discuss social and online media opportunities and challenges in the DRC. In addition, M. Swan met with representatives from Journaliste en Danger (JED), Fondation Hirondelle, Union des Femmes Congolaises de Medias (UCOFEM), and Fédération des Radios de Proximité du Congo (FRPC).
