Awareness of the Code of Good Conduct

On Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in Goma, USAID joined the actors fighting Gender-Based Violence (GBV) to mark its commitment to the 16 Days of Activism against GBV (# 16Days) in the DRC. At the ceremony, which also coincided with the launch of the extension of the amended Family Code, USAID / DRC Deputy Director Ms. Kendra Schoenholz encouraged girls’ education to combat GBV and cited Code of Conduct to reduce GBV in schools.  Ms. Schoenholz also recalled USAID’s contribution to the fight against GBV in the DRC, including programs such as USHINDI that provide medical, legal, psychological and economic assistance to survivors of GBV, as well as other complementary and coordinated activities in North Kivu.
